An artist since childhood, CATO first realized the thrilling rush of such a universal, paradoxically personal bond with a viewer by blending artistic and musical mediums in a kaleidoscopic hybrid of beauty. Derivative of collage, the work uses a rich nuance of opulent color and oscillating layers of texture. The result is a series of creations that reach the viewer on an exquisitely poignant human level. Artifacts of popular culture welcome us, while abstract, vivacious color lulls our eyes into a trance-like wonder. “I prefer to work in the abstract, because that is how each of us absorbs all the outside information coming at us and tries to make sense of it and let it play in our minds,” he explains.
