Most of the work I do involves water, including the media and the paper.  I’m a watercolor artist living on the Eastern shore of Lake Superior at the hub of the Great Lakes. This area of the world is where I get my inspiration. I go out on adventures looking for places that are both wild with nature and not readily available to the highway traveler or city dweller. Â
I like to embellish the work I paint in order to delve deeper into the subjects, showing the viewer the things that lie below the surface of my watercolors. I want my audience to feel what I felt when I painted the work, to get closer to nature and see things in my paintings that they could not imagine. I want to give them an epiphany, an "a-ha" moment. Â
My work is bold, it stands up and shows off, it doesn’t make excuses for itself.  It is confident in its brush strokes, and it doesn’t care whether or not it is liked. It just knows it’s great. It is suited for a person with similar characteristics.
