Tom Stahl

I take photographs because I like to document my explorations of the world. Photography forces me to focus and live in the moment, and, every once in a while, I hope to create something of lasting beauty.

I took up photography when I quit my job as a systems engineer to travel around the world for eighteen months. During my travels, I was surprised to find that many of my most intense memories and experiences came when I was behind the lens. After a long hiatus from photography, in 2010 I began attending the Burning Man Festival in Nevada. Seeing the fantastic art installations in the desert inspired me to take up photography again, and since then, I have won numerous awards and my photography has been exhibited around the world.
