I began drawing at a young age and later partook in lessons at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv Israel, at The Hague, in the Netherlands, and completed my art studies with an M.A in Scenography, St. Martins College, London. After graduating, I developed an authentic style, depicting fundamental truths instead of clouded realities. I consider myself the mediator between the object and the subject in each of my works.
Today, I work with different materials and techniques that expand my possibilities and that challenge me to go beyond what I know; that is most important, to continue being curious and to discover more. The main theme of my current projects, my point of departure, is estrangement in relation to the world of today; I create drawings, large mixed-media works on paper, and photographic/video projects.
My current project is entitled, Please Like Me, which I began creating in 2018. As an artist, being confronted with the phenomenon of an apparent tendency for getting approval on your work, your social media accounts, and anything else that is done on the internet, in the form of likes. I read and see that this has an enormous impact on people: being liked is the best; often forgetting that it’s almost always by those we do not know, nor ever heard of.
