I am a very emotional and sentimental person; I allow my emotions to rise when creating which I then reflect in my work. I am endlessly inspired by nature; wherever I go, I carry a small watercolor kit and if I see a landscape, a tree, a lake, etc., I create a preliminary painting to later recreate in glass. For years, traditional painting has not interested me and I only reference my preliminary works as a model for my glasswork. The canvas becomes obsolete once my work is done.
I want to convey what is original, true, and transparent. I observe reality and I pretend that my viewer imagines, for a moment, that they too are inside a lightbox. That they contemplate the landscape covered with trees, flowers, lakes and blue skies; that they imagine that they are present breathing pure air, feeling the smell of the pines and flowers. I aim to recreate memories of life. By incorporating elements of both realism and nature allows me to transmit movement into my compositions and capture my audience's attention.
