I use several techniques to create my pieces, including acrylic painting, oil painting, Japanese ink, and spray paint. Most recently, I have been focusing on creating abstract portraits. I do rough sketches when I start and nothing is predetermined. This process allows my work to develop organically, as the pieces are in an ever changing state, and no one is the same as another. The art I create attempts to convey emotions, which are inherently formless entities, and can be freely interpreted by the viewer.  Â
My process begins when I start to pay attention to the things around me, and dig into the emotion it inspires in me, which I then nurture and attempt to bring it to life. Slowly, the image acquires its form or a definable direction. It then manifests itself in my sketches and eventually, in my paintings. I am absorbed in abstract portrait work and find that acrylics are best suited for this particular process. I care about the inner beauty of my subjects, and the abstract style allows me to express that beauty, intertwined with my emotions, in a more creative and unique way.
