The images and ideas for my paintings come to me from my imagination. As they surface in my mind, I sketch them out and later transpose them onto the canvas. I have made thousands of sketches. I work with oil, preferably wet-on-wet, trying to complete the piece in only a few sittings. I favor oil paint, as it allows me to bring out the most luminosity in my pieces through careful color mixing. My work narrates my daily encounters with a violent and corrupt reality; my distrust in the institutions and the fragility of life.
