I create alternative photographic process work on both silver gelatin paper as well as watercolor paper; incorporating the historical processes of cyanotype, photogram, and the modern photographic techniques of chemigram and chromoskedasic printing.
As an artist, I become the intermediary between light and light-sensitive materials. I use a variety of objects that can be used to mask and control the amount of light being exposed, then leaving the rest of the photographic process to the chemical formulas and natural variables to compose my image.
I deliberately disconnect photography from its social context and instead represent reality by not using the camera to record an event. I create images through purely primitive photographic techniques to develop a new materiality based in abstracted and non-representational compositions.
