Art, to me, first and foremost cathartic. It is a way for me to translate my emotions into a visual form. Events from my childhood, some tragic and scarring while some that shaped my personality to a great extent, are all conveyed in my works.Â
I visualize an image in my mind, dwell over it for days or even weeks and then translate that onto my canvas. Most times other memories, incidents and images attach itself to the thought and the painting evolves as I work on it. I spend a lot of time on each work, until I am satisfied.
