Meeting the world, among memories, dreams and traces abandoned. Silent frames that tell forgotten stories, unveiling secrets and memories lost, all in the suspense of current world events.
Through a process of collecting, assembling and composing, inventing a new visual language redirected into a strange tension. During the making of Collage, the artist meets the unexpected. What happens by chance, and being inspired by that unconscious act. In the meta material, creating Oil Paintings that subvert a rational vision in favour of finding image and beauty in the unexpected, disregarded and unconventional. Technically conflating historical painting techniques and gestural handling of paint, with contemporary backgrounds in spray paint and ink. Re-ordering the world, and building poetics on accidents
and unlikely pairings.
Giving voice to our isolation, at the same time reserving the right to fantasize on historical themes. Aiming to unearth feelings of vulnerability, frustration or desire while drawing on ideas of human experience and ideas of collective unconscious. Being open to the unknown, a surrealist goal to liberate thought and language from oppressive boundaries. Asking the question, do we have the capacity to shift or are we locked into one form, old ways of thinking and seeing? Paradoxical ideas, orientated on current events, nature, places of non- thinking. Deconstructing memories and ideas of the body in a catalogue of half stories that can be read but not explained. Images do not define but ask questions themselves. Puzzles of body, form and context to create a tension of the hunted. Ideas of place, space and multi-layered narratives.
Theatre of human joy and pain.
