I have gained considerable notoriety designing furniture and decorative objects in my career. I have exhibited my designs around the world, and have found great success in selling my furniture on a large scale. I have worked with architecture, town planning, furniture design, and decorative arts for the majority of my career. Several of my furniture drawings and sketchbooks are kept at the Louvre Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris.
As I have gotten older, I have focused my efforts on painting. In my work, I use pastel and acrylic to create pieces that represent the marks of time on our bodies. I have been particularly intrigued by the culture and journey of drag queens. For me, they have a way of visually representing the aging process in humans, and I have used them as subjects in several of my works. I am interested in portraying the ‘violence’ of the aging process, and the way it betrays our lives. I have created a series of paintings that explore the themes of transformation and the body.
