My work involves the technique of silver engraving. Black paint is applied on aluminum plates, which are then engraved with a needle. Since the lines are engraved in metal, they are luminous and reflect light, so the appearance of a particular piece of art depends on the type and direction of light.
The appearance is dynamic and seductive, never the same. The work itself requires strength and hand precision, mistakes cannot be corrected or covered up.
In addition to the composition itself, I am also interested in the surface texture, it can be neutral or engaged.
The dimension of my works is beyond first hand aesthetic impression. It is often engaged, substantive. I am looking for answers about who we are, where we are and are going. I am trying to present humanism as the mission of our being. My works can be responded by everyone in their own way. What is most important to me is that the viewer is not indifferent and distanced from the content. Engagement of a viewer, specific contact and his mental reflection are response of my works of art.
