Steve Mason

The fusion of early twentieth century cubism with contemporary digital techniques renders Steve Mason's work instantly noteworthy. The further influence of a pop-linear style gives his portraiture a twist which adds an intriguing note to the compositions. Mason informs his oeuvre with iconic splendor to the point where even his self-portraits take on an artistic magnificence which is enriched by his inventive talent. The artist creates a three-dimensional space employing his personal technique of altering original images while wearing unique ChromaDepth glasses, which should also be worn when viewing for the fullest visual experience. Mason essentially paints the truth of what is seen optically as well as psychologically. Striving for this reality is what drives the artist toward his goal of expanding both his own and his viewers' personal vision. 
 
Steve Mason's professional background is broad, including engineering at Stanford, commercial fishing and over twenty years teaching Fine Art at college level. His mix of art historical, optic and computer knowledge comes to the surface in his versatile pieces. 		Steve Mason
