Michael Hill

Practicing the art of "focus", Michael Hill brings an extraordinary eye for the purity of his surroundings to his images, which are solely in black and white. By limiting his palette, Hill reduces his landscapes to their very core and elevates the image to one which is transcendental. This divine quality is prevalent throughout his works. Hill's photographs breathe the beauty which is our world. Having lived and travelled throughout the globe, the photographer brings a universal spirit into his digital prints. He shies away from figurative compositions, not for lack of interest, but in an attempt to capture the patterns and imprints we leave in our wake. In this way, the photographs radiate an inherent understanding of the essence of design in nature.
 
Michael Hill currently resides in California, and conveys both an urban and country feel in his works. He explains, "I love the art in urban architecture yet I am always seeking out the expressiveness of wide open landscapes," This open-minded fascination is at the core of his visual aesthetic.
