I am very interested in the human figure and its significance in the art world. From Delacroix to De Kooning, every stylized form of the human body explores universal themes like love, life and death. The recurrence of this familiar subject really inspires me. Having spent a lot of time at the Louvre, the subject is too embedded in my artistic composition for me to abandon it. Whenever I paint a landscape, I feel a strong need to add a character somewhere.
Sketching too, comes very naturally to me. I feel compelled to sketch and paint everything. There was a time when I would practice all the time and make drawing of anything and everything, from the toilet seat to the dishes.
