After many years of digital art-making, Polish artist Maciej Hoffman returns to the realm of painting in his new collection of insightful and observant pictorial commentaries on contemporary life. Utilizing bold, often startling imagery, aggressive colors, and an almost sculptural brush stroke, Hoffman confronts the viewer head-on with his striking ruminations on the modern human existence. Additionally, Hoffman draws on the symbols of consumer advertising that have infiltrated our daily lives in order to expose their subtle but seductive influence over our collective decision making patterns. Having dual backgrounds in both sculpture and painting, Hoffman's works play with the idea of space, altering pictorial planes to enhance the overall visual drama of each work.
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Painting, Graphic Arts, and Sculpture, Maciej Hoffman went on to explore the field of advertising. Making a welcome return to the art world, Hoffman exhibits in Europe and the United States and lives and works in Poland.
