Jane Robbins
Jane Robbins crafts fun-loving sculptures inhabited by a thespian spirit. Her figures leap, dance, and reach out towards the heavens. Working in clay, Robbins brings to life joyous figures that are later cast in acrylic, bronze, or resin. She has a passion for the human form, and focuses her art entirely around it. The artist presents each subject as a unique celebration of humanity, often favoring plump bodies over waifs and contemplative innocence over psychic intensity. Angels also appear, inspiring inspire our imaginations beyond the limits of our physical bodies with their beautiful forms. Robbins’ background lies firmly in the theater. Her family includes a number of actors and she was trained as a professional artist, creating scenery and props. She later studied anatomy on her path towards sculpting. Encouraged by her cousin Paul McCartney, her first major patron and a keen follower and fan of her work, Robbins produces “lasting, inspirational sculptures embracing traditional craftsmanship and sculptural technique.”
Jane Robbins currently runs a sculpture studio in Shrewsbury, UK, running workshops and creating both public and private works.
