His hometown of Nuoro, Sardinia, a small town surrounded by mountains and sea, informed Tamponi’s pursuit of pure expression from the beginning and continues to color the scenes we see in his work. The artist states firmly that he has chosen to remain ignorant of the fine arts on purpose to retain the earnest inspirations his environment has afforded him; nevertheless, his work conveys the “liveliness” that defines fine art.
