Adriana Escobar

As she seeks to create a new, timeless realm within the boundaries of Pop Art, Colombian artist Adriana Escobar explores the power of fame in a vibrant mosaic of smooth, electric color. Featuring iconic images of famous women like Madonna, Frida Khalo, and Marilyn Monroe, these works in acrylic and oil paint on canvas depict personalities renowned as much for the public mythologies of their lives as for their widespread effects on popular modern culture. “I've always believed in the importance of exalting those characters who have left their mark on the world and our lives,” Escobar explains. “Their experiences, beliefs and behaviors have left an indelible mark through the years.”

The youngest of eight children in a family of painters, Adriana Escobar was raised in an artistic atmosphere that pushed her always to follow her passion, allowing her to discover her inner self through her works. In recent years her art has received much attention in her native Colombia and from an eager audience in Miami, Florida.
