Yevgenia Nayberg does not wish for her work to be merely an eye pleasing spot on a wall; she aims for a poetic connection between visual imagery and common word meanings. Reared in an artisan family and surrounded by a creative environment, Ms. Nayberg reflects the spirit she witnessed from an early age in Kiev. In her paintings, she relies on her affinity to phrasing and verbiage to culminate in the visual equivalent of literary metaphors. Yevgenia Nayberg’s work thus elicits feedback including words “pessimistic” and “optimistic” from deeply moved audiences.
Receiving an MFA degree in Theatre Design, Ms. Nayberg is inspired from the aesthetic response to theatre and literature, as well as the emotional response to loss, journey, hope, and memories. Her dramatic approach to evoke heightened awareness from everyday objects succeeds, producing unforgettable results. Yevgenia Nayberg has exhibited in Moscow, Prague, Los Angeles and New York, and has won awards for her scenic, set and stage designs.
