Through acrylic and pastels Tyice Natasha creates a visual dance. Born from the beats of jazz and the cadence of poetry, Natasha’s paintings move in a rhythmic ebb and flow of color and line. While purely abstract, one senses bold figurative forms happening in her rippling mark. There are suggestions of relationships, connections and joy in the movements of paint. Inspired as much by Haiku as by Miles Davis, these elemental works invoke feelings of stillness as the colors breathe and the line calls us to return to center and find Zen in the chaos. Her works in conceptual expressionism are intuitive and occur organically on the canvas. In her paintings Natasha explores the mysteries of creativity and simply allows the Art to happen.
Isolated by language while teaching English in Japan, Natasha discovered a visual language within. Though completely self taught, she is driven to live a life inspired and in just a short time has gained worldwide exposure with exhibits in New York, Montreal, Tokyo, and Seoul, South Korea.
