Terry Wang is a painter with a deep connection to the world around him and because of his adventurous spirit he has explored some remote parts of the globe. Wang spent six months traveling through and painting the most isolated realms of Tibet, an area that was subsequently closed to outsiders. As a testament to how exceptional this journey was, a book featuring Wang’s artistic trek was published in 2009. In this volume we enjoy paintings of the landscape and people of Tibet crafted in Wang’s expressive style. Rich brushstrokes of vibrant color give the irregular effect of textures found in jagged mountains, lush foliage, and glimmering waters. With a background in Confucianism and ink painting, the concepts of peace and clarity are infused within the aesthetic of his oil painting. "I hope my paintings are magnetic enough to accompany you, prompt your soul to soar, and make it vibrate."
Wang continues to exhibit his work in Taiwan and the United States. He lives and works in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
