A flower wilts past its bloom even as a new life grows inside a mother's womb. Angelina McCormick's works are self declared confessionals, insights in image which peer into the space where the worlds of motherhood and art collide.
A native of Canada, Angelina graduated from Carleton University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science, and almost immediately embarked upon life as a wife and mother. Her experiences mirror those of many women who find themselves being swallowed in the roles set by society. Photography was her means to break free of those roles, and through basic subjects, cast in simple shades she explores both her own nature, and the realities that underlie our mundane existence.
Angelina is passionate about motherhood, and passionate about her art. They exist in tandem, feeding from one another in a constantly shifting balance. The results of this are poignant and striking photographs that pierce the veils of the everyday, and reveal our primal truths laid bare.
